Nissan Driver Attention Alert
It has been found that drowsy driving may be involved in more than 20 percent of all fatal crashes. A study by the AAA (American Automobile Association) and the National Highway Transportation Safety Association (NHTSA) suggests that drowsy drivers are involved in approximately 300,000 crashes each year. Nissan addresses this issue by offering the Nissan's Driver Attention Alert system.
This safety technology adapts to each individual driver to address potential driver fatigue and inattention. By monitoring steering inputs during a period of driving, the system can establish a baseline. It then continuously compares subsequent driving patterns to a baseline, using a statistical analysis of steering correction errors.
If the system detects behavior consistent with drowsy driving, the system uses an audible chime sound and displays an amber coffee cup with a message reading, "Take a break?" in the vehicle's information display.
The Driver Attention Alert uses logic to help address false detection, road curvatures, lane changes, braking, and poor road conditions. This means that drivers in the Littleton, CO, area won't have to worry about the system unnecessarily interrupting their drive.
Blind Spot Warning (BSW)
Whether you're commuting to work in Aurora, CO, or traveling along the highway around Denver, Nissan's advanced Blind Spot Warning system can help you drive with confidence. The Blind Spot Warning system is designed to help alert Centennial drivers of other vehicles in their blind spot areas when changing lanes.
By using highly sophisticated radar sensors installed in the rear bumper, this system can detect vehicles on either side of your vehicle within the detection zone. The detection zone starts from the outside of your side mirror and extends about ten feet behind the rear bumper and to the side of your Nissan model. This system activates whenever Highlands Ranch drivers travel above 20 MPH.
When a vehicle is detected within your blind spots, an indicator light illuminates in the pillar. If the turn signal is turned on, the system will chime twice, and the indicator light will flash until the vehicle is no longer in your blind spot.
Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB)
The Automatic Emergency Braking system uses radar technology to help you maintain a safe speed and distance from the vehicle ahead of you by measuring the distance between you and the vehicle ahead. Drivers around Littleton, CO, can count on this feature activating as early as speeds of 3 MPH. With this feature engaging at most speeds, you will have extra help, whether in a parking lot or on the highway.
This system gives audio and visual warnings to help reduce your speed when there is the possibility of a frontal collision. If the driver brakes during this warning and the system still detects there is the possibility of a collision, extra braking force will automatically be applied. If a collision is unavoidable, this feature will automatically engage the brakes to reduce speed and the severity of a collision.
