Before you even consider working on the car to change the tire, move the vehicle off the road, even if you have to ride the tire rim to do so.
  1. Use the tire lug wrench to begin to loosen the lug nuts only slightly, then it is safe to jack the car high enough to get the flat tire off the ground.
  2. With the tire off the ground, take off the lugs, the tire, and place the spare tire on those lug bolts.
  3. Secure the spare tire with the lugs, but don't tighten all the way.
  4. Lower the jack and then it is safe to tighten all the lug nuts as snug as you can get.
  5. Pack the wrench, the flat tire, and the car jack, back into the trunk and you're good to go.
Visit Tynan's Nissan Aurora so we can have our tire technicians take a look at the quality of the tires and tread.
